Lose Belly Fat In Three Easy Steps

Though you have been exercising and eating right, your having a tough time seeing any weight loss, maybe your body is afraid that your starving. You may think there is no way one can lose weight by eating every three hours, but there is established science behind the theory.

Imagine that if you do not feed your body accurately and regularly your body could get the feeling your have a restricted food source or in other words that your are going to starve. Your body latches onto the fat rather and stores it for later just in case. Your body burns muscle instead of fat to save calories.

Considering what you weigh now and what your target is you may want to work on a habit of frequent healthy snacking. By eating a few bites every three hours or so you can “trick” your body into believing you live in a time of abundant food and therefore no starvation fat saving strategies are needed.

For some folks eating is an addiction or a substitute for fulfillment in other areas in their lives. Of course you can’t give up eating but learning new eating habits may be helpful for you if you are struggling with weight-loss issues. Since you have to eat to sustain life you must learn how to view food in a way conducive to a trim figure. No matter what anyone says, if you eat less food you will have less calories and thus will lose or maintain your weight. If your like some folks I know you might be happy just to maintain your current weight and not gain more.

Some folks want to go on a “diet” binge and drop weight fast but dieting may actually activate the starvation hoarding response mentioned above. Plus most diets restrict the foods we love and therefore are harder to see through to the end. Then if we can “diet” for six weeks and suffer through we say “thank goodness I’m done with my diet” and promptly eat all the food we have been depriving ourselves of. Instantly erasing all the gains of the past six weeks.

I think a better approach is lifestyle change which is an even scarier term than diet for a lot of folks. Most of us have a hard time changing. But here we are talking of slow progressive changes in what we do and eat.
Take a three step approach of:
1. Changing the things you eat..stop eating junk food at take out restaurants, or, if you must eat there, stick to the sandwich only do not eat fries or drink pop.
A lot of fast food joints are offering salads these days and they are a better choice for your health.

2. Keep healthy snacks of fresh vegetables, fruits and raisins and raw nuts with you and munch a few bites every two to three hours. If you were a caveman foraging in the forest you’d come across food every so often an munch a few handfuls before moving on. Since that is the way your body is programmed it will think that you are in a time of plenty and therefore no fat storage is needed.

3. If you haven’t already done so then make up your mind to exercise at least three times a week. I’m not talking about going to the gym and working to look like a muscle builder, just a move it or lose it attitude of walking or some other low impact exercise to get your heart rate up and you pulse going.

Of course I am in favor of body building exercise regimes but they may not be what your looking for and overall a mindset of “move it to lose it” and sensible eating habits are what really matter to the folks who just want to be fit without going all out. If your like me you will have some difficulty changing but every time you eat a hand full of raw nuts, fruit, or other healthy choice that’s a time you didn’t eat something bad and they add up. When you reach into the fridge and you chose the fresh orange rather than the left over birthday cake you win.

The good news is that your reading this and thus have your health and fitness on the top of our mind. You will think about what your eating and if you continually seek out articles and programs for choice change rather than forgetting about weight loss and and losing belly fat then you will be more inclined to choose that orange. You can get fit, you can lose weight, you are not a tree and you can change.
