It’s a bit difficult for me to relate, cause here you do the marriage legal documents upon getting married… but I think it’s pretty major that he didn’t tell her they weren’t lawfully wedded. The “you were my wife in my heart” speech is pretty arguable. Most of all, marriage gives you a legal status well beyond what’s in your “heart” – just to say one, it gives you the right and responsibility to decide for your spouse in emergency case. And he wanted to wait till after graduation???
